Datapalooza! Using Evidence to Match Students with Resources

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Participants will learn about one district’s approach to using the Multi-Tiered System of Supports Cycle of Inquiry and Action (MTSS CIA) to change teacher evidence use practices. A focus will be on the research foundation and the connection to collective teacher efficacy. Participants will explore how the MTSS CIA can be used for collaborative teaming and system change. ISD 622 eliminated the reading achievement gap in Kindergarten (over 730 students, 65% non-white) after only four months as a result of teachers using this process. Building the capacity of teacher-leaders to facilitate the learning of peers in their collaborative teams, using evidence to make decisions, and keeping equity at the center meant that teachers were able to make nimble instructional decisions. Participants will learn how to do similar work with their teams and will walk away with insight into how it is possible to meaningfully change teacher mindset and skill-set.
